Here are all 16 blocks together. I plan to set them with a fairly simple alternate block because I want this to be a big quilt for my guest room bed. I wish it was done now - my parents are coming to visit next week so I will have to go out and buy a blanket to use in the meantime.
Thanks for the ideas about my applique block! I will get to finishing it soon.
So here is the one I have decided on so far. The name given this block in the book I found it in is Foxy Grandpa :0) That ought to get a smile or 2 on guild night. It is so hard to choose - there are so many interesting blocks I want to try and a never ending supply of inspiration. Then I've been looking at setting options and an alternate block to increase the size...
I've been working on this wreath a bit too. I finally got the two-headed flower to where I am happy with it. The seed pod or whatever that is on the bottom right definitely has to go but I still don't know what to put in it's place. The inspiration block has a flower bud shape I haven't used yet but maybe it won't look balanced until I put on another blue flower. What do you think? I'd be very grateful for some suggestions. 
The first thing I did was add a couple borders - now its ready to pin baste and quilt. The pattern is last years free Christmas pattern from Marcie over at http://patchalotmore.blogspot.com/ 
I have spent some time arranging and rearranging the second half of this wreath - and yes the seam ripper has been used. Finally I have a plan! :0) I still don't know yet what I'm going to do in the center - obviously I can't fit it all in - some of it will though I think.

I'd be making faster progress on the wreath if I wasn't making these blocks at the same time. Just this little bit of applique is a bit of a distraction. I am enjoying the process and there is no rush! 
My littlest daughter is 21 months old now - she "helped" with a prop for a second picture. :0)
I was away in Vancouver last weekend (my other sister had her 3rd son) And while it looks like winter here, in Vancouver there are still flowers blooming. 
I don't know what kind of flower it is and I'm pondering how I would applique it - the petals are interesting.
It is made from double knits, corduroy and velvet on a muslin foundation. It's not quilted and the backing is blue corduroy brought around to the front for binding. The green velvet centers are left over from matching dresses she sewed for my cousin and I. The other fabrics are scraps - some from her clothes that I remember. There is even a couple "poverty patches" in it - strips pieced to be the right length to use. It has been well used :0) 
This is what I have been doing with my leader/ender 9 patches. I'm still a bit amazed that I bought grey fabric to set them with. I don't have any grey in my stash at all. But I wanted the 9 patches to shine and this warm grey lets them do that. I plan to handquilt baptist fans all over it. I think the grey print gives it an old look.
And... since I finished piecing the crib quilt I needed a new piecing project to work on. These blocks are from the book Remembering Adelia by Kathleen Tracy. I don't know how many I'll make or how I will set them but meanwhile I'm having fun! 
I had so much fun quilting this. I quilted a big target in the center, outline quilted the applique and added berries and leaves in the open areas. I had trouble choosing a fabric for binding and in the end I went with a brown print. 
Here is a little close up of the quilting. I learned so much as I hand quilted my last couple projects that I think I might be ready to baste and start on my 4 block applique quilt I posted about here. I also need to get a new applique project started. I've so many ideas its hard to pick just one :0)
