a little progress

Here in Canada we celebrated Thanksgiving over the weekend. I was thankful to find some extra time to do some quilting. I quilted all around the first corner - 3 more to go!

I was also thankful that the lines came around the applique straight and I didn't have to "fudge it". I do see that I definitely will need to quilt something in the large red center. The lines are just under 3/4 of an inch apart and I'm still deciding whether I am going to cross them with more lines. Probably just the one direction is enough quilting for this type of batting but is it enough quilting for me...? :0)

I'm still making these blocks in between piecing other things. I laid them out today to see how big they've progressed to. I definitely need more - lots more!

And I can't resist a picture of the pansies still blooming away in a pot on my deck. The flowers are lasting so well this fall - I love it!
Happy Quilting!!

Lovely quilting!
The courthouse steps are looking great, they are so scrappy and fun.
The pansy is beautiful, I don't think I've ever seen that color.

Aren't 3 day weekends the best? You have gotten so much lovely quilting done :0) Are the court house step blocks the same size? The vertical ones look skinnier than the horizontal ones do...or is it an illusion?

I love your applique quilt and I always spend a lot of time agonising about how much quilting to do. At the end of the day I really think the quilt talks to you and says when it is enough!! Happy stitching!

Nice quilting. It looks good without the crosshatch, but maybe I'm projecting my lazy-me side! The scrappy on is nice too. How big are the blocks? And I always love the pansy faces looking up at me. This time I also see clown costumes in the dark centers. Versatile little creatures, aren't they!

Oh, your quilting is looking great in the quilt so far. I like it the way it is. I like the work in progress too. I want to make one of those one day.
Sweet pansies. I can't grow them at my house because the deer like to eat them.

What lovely quilts. We had a good show of pansies here in Scotland too.

Lovely quilts and quilting! I always love your fabric choices. Maybe because you add lots of pink and I love pink!
