A few weeks ago my daughter and I went shopping for the border and backing fabrics for this quilt. I was sure I would get it together that week.... I finally got to it and here it is! (Most of it is showing :0) My very tall husband is standing on a chair and some of it still lays on the floor. It is a very long quilt. Hopefully this will help it stay tucked in at night - an important factor for the 10 year old who plans to sleep under it :0) I want to try free motion quilting this one. All of that length could be a bit of a challenge but there is no way I'm going to stitch this one in the ditch.
I love how warm it looks with all the gold and cheddar fabrics in it. These blocks were so fun to sew! I miss stealing away for a few minutes to sew up one more scrappy block. I really must start another scrappy project soon!
Happy Halloween!

Your top looks amazing!!!
Wow!! That is an amazing quilt!! Beautifully pieced! I love the cheddars too.
Congratulations on a wonderful finish!
I'm looking forward to see how you quilt it.
What a wonderful quilt, I can just imagine the fun of piecing one block at a time. I think it would be torture to stitch in the ditch, lol. The cheddars warm up the quilt beautifully.
Looks wonderful, and will be so cozy for your child to sleep under. Love all the different fabrics you used. Looking forward to seeing it finished!
What a wonderful quilt to sleep under and I love the fabrics used. I don't think I would be ditch stitching it either. Take care.
It's just gorgeous. I love the scrappy look, and the pink border is great!
Beautiful log cabin; what a lucky kid!
Janet, it is absolutely wonderful! Oh, I love that scrappy look: Scrappy, yet there is a sense of cohesion. And yes, it's the type of quilt you want to crawl under. I hope the plan works to stay under! :) I don't think that quilting would necessarily enhance the quilt- so 'functional' quilting should be enough, right? Have fun and I cannot wait to see what your next 'scrappy' will be! xox:)
It is absolutely lovely! The quilting will only enhance its beauty!!
Great quilttop! Like how clear the repro colors look...and the cheddar of course!
A very nice scrap quilt. Great border fabric too. Your daughter will enjoy that quilt very much.
Your quilt top is wonderful. I love your choice of colors, it's so fun to look at.
Aren't scraps the most fun to work on?
good luck with the quiting, remember, bare feet, wine and breath :)
It took a lot of cutting strips to make your log cabin quilt. I have always liked the court house steps setting for a log cabin block.
Your color choices are always perfect for me. I love this!
Lovely. I have one of these started.
Beautiful quilt! Your dear husband is a great model..! BTW if he was taller the quilt wouldn't be draped onto the carpet.. ;)
Oh my! That is beautiful! Seeing yours really makes me want to drag mine back out and finish it up! I have 224 of the 6inch blocks finished now I just need to sew them all together. I can't wait to see yours quilted.
