cheddar posies top finished!

With the start of a new year I have been itching to start something new. My sewing table is piled with sketches, magazines and pulled fabrics but since I am having troubles with indecision it seemed like a good time to finish something already in the works.
This quilt I have been calling Cheddar Posies.  It is for  DD#1 so the colors and pattern were her choice. The pattern is called RosyPosies from the May/June 2011 Quiltmaker magazine.

The blocks were all made and the center 18 blocks were together already so really just the borders needed to go together.  My quilts often get stuck at this point.  It took a surprisingly long time to finish it up.

Of course now it is ready to be basted for machine quilting.  Also not my favorite part... DD#1 is eager to be sleeping under this so she will keep me moving on it :0)
Now maybe I can start piecing something new!
Happy Quilting!!

Doesn't it look welcoming on the bed there! no wonder she is itching for it to be quilted. Well done - a great finish!

This is lovely! and what a pretty bedroom. Where did you get the white headboard? I'm in the market. Your D must be excited to have such a pretty quilt made by her mom -

Fun quilt. I too often get stuck when it comes to the borders. Not sure why but I just hate doing them. Good for you for pushing on!

What a fun quilt... you should slow stitch that one... hand quilt it... how fun that would be to do! But if she wants it fast to the machine it goes... have fun whatever you do... just do a little every day and before you know it she will be sleeping under it :) Wonderful flimsy! Love the colors and the pattern! YOur piecing rocks... it is my downfall unfortunately. Thanks for sharing! Kathi

Yeah! A finish! Now your mind may be more decisive about that new project, LOL! Your daughter has good taste...orange and blue are the colors of my alma mater (Auburn), and I am always drawn to orange and blue projects. Nicely done!

What a beauty! Just think, in 100-200 years, someone will be oohing and aahhing over it, and they will know the story from the label*wink, wink*! DD is a fortunate girl.
