something of my own

I've posted other people's work the last few posts and so today I thought I'd post about something I'm working on.
I showed a sneak peak of this a couple weeks back. I plan to make pieced blocks to surround this pot of flowers to make it a wallhanging. I'm thinking log cabin blocks or maybe churn dash blocks.
The flower shapes are from a Lori Smith pattern. I drew the pot/vase to be a bit like one on the Civil War Bride quilt. (So far I am resisting starting that quilt)

Happy Quilting!!

Stunning appliqué..It has a certain whimsy about it, yet has traditional flair!

Your block is beautiful and it's going to make a stunning little quilt with some borders. I can't wait to see what it ends up like.

Oh Janet this is so lovely. Timeless. Rich in color and contrast. Perfectly chosen fabrics and exceptionally placed those florals in that vase. Oh my but you take my breath away. Can I have it back? I need to breath. hee hee
