New

I finally found time to get my 4 block applique quilt basted! Yeah! I'm so very happy to have a new hand quilting project.
I also have a new hoop. It's a composite plastic 17" no-slip hoop. So far I really like it.
There is only one more new thing(s) that I need to really get going on this project - new calluses! I wore holes in my fingers the first time I worked on it. :0) I guess it's been too long since I last quilted by hand.
I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with the quilting - for now I am going to start with outlining the applique. I just LOVE this kind of quilting - it is SO much more relaxing than free motion quilting!
Happy Quilting!!

Your quilt is looking gorgeous!
Use super glue on your sore fingers. It helps you quilt until your callouses get built up. I store mine in the freezer..and use a dab as needed. You can't stop now..you're on a roll? ;)

Your quilt is looking scrumptious and so are the lovely stitches. I'll have to try Ann's tip for my sore applique finger. What batting have you got in this one? I'm always interested to know.

oh Janet i love the look of your quilting on this quilt
keep going!
I use Newskin, you put it on like nail polish
really helps my sore fingers from appliqué as well
you can buy it at the drug store or target type store or even the grocery store

Wow Beautiful Janet and your stitches are wonderful!! I agree this is the best kind of quilting. I put Neutogena hand cream on my fingers every night, it really helps to heal them. When they get too bad I take a day off from quilting....which is very sad LOL.

You know, I'm setting something up for handquilting. I think I'm going to need lessons....
