a quick finish

This little quilt now is hanging on the wall in my front entryway. It was a quick finish :0) The pattern is Sweet Carolina - from AP&Q August 2011
When I finished the top I put it away - I was unsure of how to quilt it and I knew for certain I couldn't quilt it like the one in AP&Q. After a few weeks I could pull it out having forgotten how beautifully quilted it was in the magazine and quilt it "my way" (very simple - stitch in the ditch mostly)

I managed to get all the blocks assembled for my daughter's courthouse steps quilt. Today DD#2 and I went to the LQS to choose fabrics for borders/binding/backing. It was fun to do that together!! She chose pink (no surprise there) Hopefully I can get the borders on this week and take a picture to share.

Happy Quilting!!

What a happy little quilt to see when you come in your home. When I want to get back to basics in quilting I always choose a log cabin, they are just plain fun to me, so enjoy the court house steps.

such a sweet quilt. I'm so glad you didn't feel you had to "follow the leader" but do it your way!

What a cute little quilt! I didn't see the original so I'm not biased. The quilting looks just right to me!

Such fun projects coming from your hands.
Having a daughter to go to the store with you to pick fabrics is such a blessing. :)

Janet that's going to be so wonderful to see the Courthouse steps. What a special blessing to be able to share the choosing of fabrics together. I love that for you. Quick question on the little quilt. How do you find quilting the little ones when its not in a hoop? I'm working on a little piece myself right now and interested in your experience, thoughts...

a beautiful finish on this sweet little quilt~!

i actually don't remember what the quilting on the original looked like but i sure like the way you've done yours. sometimes simple quilting lets some of the other elements of a quilt shine a bit brighter.
