I was looking for some orphan blocks yesterday - digging around the very bottom of the ufo pile and I found this applique block. I'd forgotten all about it. I was never quite happy with the big yellow flower - so I put it aside. I've been thinking about making a small wallhanging to hang by the front door - something for spring. I think I just might be able to do something with it. With a headstart like this I might even get it on the wall before spring is over. :0)

Hi Janet!
How lovely to meet you! I saw your b,log over on Cotton-n-wool and thought I'd come over for a visit. I LOVE your quilts. I myself love to quilt as well. I like that one Kim Diehl applique you are working on right now. I made one out of the homespuns (it looks quite a bit like Kim Diehl's), but I found homespuns so very difficult to work with. I was not overly thrilled with the way it turned out; but I still use it. I do a fair amount of handquilting, but that one I felt quite generous in machine quilting it and finishing it instead of "filing" it on the bottom of my UFO's!
I also made a log cabin quilt for my son. Doesn't it make you feel special when your children love your quilts?
Right now I am working through two block-of-the-months. The free one over at Bunny Hill Designs, and then "Baltimore Bunnies" by Bunny Hill Designs.
I am going to put you on my favorites so I can keep up on your projects!
Have a nice day!

Great little block. It would definitely make a cute spring wall hanging.
Hi Janet!
I can't believe you free handed the applique on that quilt! Very good job! It is going to be neat to see that finished (no pressure, no pressure Ha!Ha!).
Have a fabulous day!
