I'm still here

Soccer season keeps us pretty busy for May and June. Everyday I try to sew a few pieces together, applique a shape or 2, or handquilt a few threads. This is the latest block from the BOM challenge with the guild I belong to. It took me 3 days to make :0) I know life will not always be this busy...

Happy Quilting!

Hi Janet!

You do such nice work! My blocks are really never square, although my quilts always come out square when the whole thing is finished. I've actually quit worrying over it; but I admire when someone has a square block!

I myself am working on a block of the month - I promised myself to NEVER do that again! Every month the thing just comes again! Whether I feel I have time or not! And then I get all stressed over getting it done quickly so it isn't loitering around when the next block arrives! Although it probably is the best way to get through complicated quilts. I did "Rabbits Prefer Chocloate" in about 6 weeks instead of 12 months (I was always trying to have a block prepared for karate class so I'd have something to do - of course the actual sewing down the applique pieces is the fastest part...so I would then have to prepare another block, etc.); that was a little overwhelming!

I really love your grandmother's quilt. I am always impressed when someone cares enough to make something for someone they love.

Have a great week!
