Summer Stars

I got my stars together for the Temecula Quilt Co's Summer Star sew-a-long. They posted their layout yesterday and somehow I had it in my mind that there would be 9 stars. Theirs has only 8 so I made up my own 2"center and made an extra block.
I had trouble deciding on border fabric. This navy is what I went with but I came very close to using this taupe/grey/brown.
I hope I can get it quilted this week. It's only 16" square so it shouldn't take too long :0) What a fun little project for summer.
Happy Quilting!!

I thought there would be nine stars too. I am a bit behind on making mine so I will do the setting as Temecula showed. Nice finish.

I will try to put mine together this week. I do like the blue fabric much better.

Love the blue border and the colors in the stars but I can see why you were sorely tempted by the gray border, very nifty looking!

Blue was a great choice for your border. Your quilt is lovely. I am not excited about the 8 block layout, so I think I'll make an extra star, too.

I did these blocks too, and wondered about making a 9th one... yours looks great - and the blue border just right! Aren't the Temecula sewalongs fun?
