Bird of Paradise blocks

Barb asked to see the finished blocks all together. I thought that was a great idea as I hadn't done it for awhile.
So, now I can see that I don't need anymore big pink things and maybe it could use a little bit more black. This is not the final layout - I will decide that when I have all the blocks appliqued.
I ordered a few pieces of Moda Primitive Muslin to see if one of those would work for my borders. They came today and none were a very good match. I think I could live with this darker one laid out on the left. I would put an hst or dogtooth border between as a first border I think.
I've been busy sketching the next 2 blocks this afternoon :0)
Happy Quilting!!

They look so good! That church block is just the best! I like the tad darker fabric and the idea of an inner border or 1/2 square triangles, it will all frame it beautifully.

wow! you are moving right along. I think the darker muslin would be okay for the border.

Yum - yum - YUM!! They look great all together. I'm glad Barb suggested that. It is always a good idea to see the whole thing together before locking in on the colors for the final blocks. That way you can add whatever is needed to balance the quilt. I am doing that with the last 4 of 16 blocks on my current project.

I had a "committee" that insisted on helping me arrange my CWB quilt blocks...and I'm glad they helped. For my current project, I am taking pictures of each block, cropping them all the same size and making multiple setting in Word before using the most promising ones to lay out the actual blocks. It is saving me from a lot of crawling around on the floor!

Your quilt is going to be so fabuous...I love the idea of adding a sawtooth border to battle all the applique goodness.

In stitches,
Teresa :o)
