where did the summer go?

I spent much of today with back to school preparations.  How can it be that time already?  I have a little sewing progress to share.
This 6 inch block was really tricky.  Afterwards I told myself  "Just because cutting instructions are given for a 6 inch square doesn't mean you have to make it."  I do really like it though :0)

2 more - a little less complicated ones.

My top border for my Bird of Paradise quilt is slowly growing.  I can't decide how symmetrical I want it to be - my daughter called this "quilters block"  :0)  I don't think I'm that stuck - I just need to find enough time to sit down and figure it out.  Maybe tonight...

Happy Quilting!!

Gorgeous blocks! I can't even imagine how tiny those HSTs were to make a 6" block. Fabulous border.

Your latest 6" block has a gazillion tiny pieces. You did a fantastic job. "Quilter's Block"...great phrase. Your daughter is spot on!

Those 6 inch blocks are beautiful - more so for being so small! Good luck with the border - hope your 'blockage' clears soon ;) I do love the background fabric you have on this quilt - such a nice vintage look.

Wow, I can't believe that is a 6" block - amazing piecing and color placement.

That's a lot of pieces for a 6" block! I love a good challenge though and it looks like you do to.

I am chuckling over "quilter's block". You have diagnosed my perpetual problem! Is there a cure, or must I simply start a new project? I just discovered your blog--you have so many interesting projects--all wonderful!

Gorgeous little blocks. There is something about those tiny pieces that issue a challenge....so fiddly but worth go the results. Your appliqué border is beautiful.
