Fall stuff

Thanks so much everyone for all of your congratulations on my last post.  I continue to think about my next big applique project. I want to choose carefully - there are so many tempting options.  In the meantime I have appliquéd another pot full of flowers and have the 3rd block prepped.  This will be a good small project to tide me over my indecision :0)  The flowers are just so happy.

I worked a bit on my Bird of Paradise border.  Progress is slow as it takes forever for me to plan and prep.
I had to take yesterday afternoon to make tomato sauce.  I can't keep up with eating tomatoes and they are so yummy from the garden.
I also made these 2 fox faces.  What fun, easy blocks.  Our guild is making a donation quilt with Elizabeth Hartman's Fancy Fox pattern.  I think it will be fantastic!
I was so pleased my sunflower bloomed this week.   Quite often the squirrels will climb up and chew the flower buds off before they bloom.  I was also glad it bloomed before we had our first frost last night.  It's such a short growing season here - but beautiful!
This should inspire me to get back to working on that wallhanging for my DD#1 with the circle I handpieced this summer.

Happy Quilting!!

I would love a little fairy that would prep my applique for me. It really isn't too bad but it would be nice to just keep stitching. Beautiful sunflower!

I had a few big sunflowers in the front of the house mid-summer. I'd sit on the porch and enjoy watching the finches hang upside down to get the seeds. Then the squirrel discovered them and that was it! :)

Too funny-I have the fox quilt all ready to go to my fall retreat next month. It will be for my Grandson. We do like a lot of the same quilts :)
The squirrel is a perfect addition to CWBQ. Pot of flowers is sweet. No hurry finding your next appliqué project, it will find you.

The squirrel got my attention. For some reason, I like to see an applique squirrel on a quilt.

Know what you mean by so many tempting applique quilt projects. I have several lined up. Some with fabric and pattern already and some lined up in my mind.

Your Bird of Paradise border is looking lovely - great squirrel ! Those tomatoes look too perfect to be real - tomato sauce sounds a delicious option for excess crops. Sunflowers are such a cheerful flower - glad the critters left you one! I have a similar problem with possums here :(

Love all your transition projects. Prepping does seem to take forever, but look how lovely it is when you're done. First frost? I'm ready for cooler temps, but not quite ready for frost. Glad the squirrels left your sunflowers alone. They're so cheerful.

Your flower pots are so cute and the foxes will be a fun quilt for the guild.
Always love to see progress on your BOP quilt :)
